The Lesson of the Cucumber Tulip

I want to share a story with you that I heard this past Sunday. Actually, it was the ‘rest of the story’ that was shared after the service by our guest speaker, Bud. During the sermon, he told how he and his wife had stopped at a house while on a walk to check out a somewhat rare Cucumber Tulip tree. The owner of the tree eagerly talked about it and about his life, but it wasn’t until after chu ..More

Lasting Impact from Keynote Outreaches

One of the real privileges we have in Keynote is to join hands with military chaplains around the and sometimes overseas.  Often we find receptive hearts in these men and women who may some day face death as they defend our country as well as other nations around the world!

However, our bands rarely have the opportunity to "stick around" when we work with military installations.  At basic training locations, the recruits themselves aren't even around very long after the concert.  So we continue to plant seeds, talk with people and let the concert hosts and military chaplains provide the follow-up.

About five years ago, one of Keynote's Summer Project bands visited Edwards Air Force Base in to perform an evangelistic concert.  The comment cards indicated several decisions for Christ, but the band was on a tight schedule and had to leave shortly after the concert.  Fortunately, we had a base chaplain excited to follow-up with the airmen.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, when Chasing Elvis (one of Keynote's current bands) played at Bolling Air Force Base near Washington, D.C. and worked with, you guessed it, the same base chaplain that had been at Edwards Air Force Base!  He told us of a young airman who accepted Christ at that concert five years ago.  Chaplain McIntosh continued to disciple the airman and eventually baptized him, kept track of him in his new marriage, and recently performed the baby dedication for their new daughter.  These two men continue to connect and the airmen is still walking with God and leading his family to walk closely with God as well.

"Life-Change"... another soul transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His beloved Son!

Keynote artists hit the road this week for a busy season of outreach concerts and a number of those concerts will take place on military installations.  We also have international outreaches starting again in September - stay tuned for more information in our next update.

Thanks again for your interest in Keynote's ministry - We're grateful for your partnership!

Did this story speak to you? Is God a part of your life? If God's not a part of your life, or you're not sure He is, you can make sure right now. We believe that God sent his son Jesus Christ to come to earth to live as a man. We believe that everyone has sinned and no one is perfect. We believe Jesus willingly went to the cross to die for all of us to forgive our sins.

We believe that the way to heaven is not through being a good person or through doing good deeds, but a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You can have that today by praying this simple prayer: God, I've messed up and have sinned against you. Please forgive me. I need you in my life. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to take the punishment of my sins and that you forgive me of all of my sins because of what Jesus did. Lord, I ask now that you fill me with your spirit and help me to live a life for you. Amen.
