The Purpose of Life

In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:  People ask me, What is the purpose of life? And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.

One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body-- but not the end of me.

I may live 60 to 100 years on earth ..More

A sons death A friends slavation
Hi all

I heard this story from my brother, it's a real TEAR JERKER.
.
A minister said to the church: "Today I would like to welcome an old friend of mine, John* who is going to share his story with us.
*I can't remember his real name.
John stood up and began his story.
One day a father, his son and his son's friend went out on a boat trip. Unfortunately the weather changed really quick and the waves almost over turned the small boat. It got so bad both boys were thrown over board. The father suddenly realizing that the current was too strong to save both boys would only have time to save one. He had to act fast so he saved his son's friend and let his only son die.
Years later the friend asked the father why he saved him and not his own son. The father answered "My son already knows God and has faith as I. But you did not know Christ so I saved you because that's what Jesus does. He saves."
Then John said: "I am that father in the story I just told you and my son's friend that I rescued that day is you minister here before you."
Apparently the crowd went mad, stood up and cheered.
